Bolles School junior Griffin Vollertsen lifted 302 pounds in the snatch to set a national record at a USA Weightlifting competition in Fort Worth, Texas.

Vollertsen, a member of the Class of 2027, posted the 137-kilogram mark at the 2026 VIRUS Weightlifting Series 2 event, held Friday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 13. He competed in the men's under-17, 95-kg-plus weight class, covering lifters over 209 pounds.

Vollertsen swept all three categories. He took first in snatch, clean and jerk at 140 kg (309 lbs) and total weight at 277 kg (611 lbs), according to results posted by The Bolles School.

The school celebrated the record on its official X account Friday, Sept. 18, congratulating Vollertsen and calling the snatch a new national mark.
