Bolles flag football player Lorena Clutter received the Jacksonville Jaguars' nomination for the NFL's 2026 Latino Youth Honors at EverBank Stadium on Sunday.

Clutter, a senior wide receiver and linebacker for the Bulldogs, joined Nease High School's Enrique Ordoñez as the Jaguars' two nominees honored during the team's game against the New England Patriots. The ceremony was first reported by Action News Jax. The program, run by the NFL and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, selected 64 student-athletes nationwide this year.

A club built to help communities abroad

A native of Peru, Clutter founded a club at Bolles to raise awareness about global hardships and organize support for underserved communities. The club coordinates annual clothing drives that deliver donations to communities in the Dominican Republic and Peru. It has also funded service trips to provide clean-water access to rural areas in the Dominican Republic.

"Lorena's efforts visiting Peru, putting together clothing drives and wanting to give back were very impressive," said Adriel Rocha, the Jaguars' vice president of community impact and youth development. "Seeing someone in their hometown accomplish this allows the next generation to want to take that next step, too."

Rocha said the nomination program evaluates hundreds of applicants from the Florida Panhandle through Orlando.

Clutter said the recognition caught her off guard. She called it a chance to represent the Latin American community in St. Johns and hoped to inspire younger athletes to pursue the sport.

Jaguars nominees have gone national before

The honor builds on the Jaguars' track record with the program. Last year's local nominee, Beachside High School quarterback Edward "Eddie" Jordan IV, advanced to the national stage and was crowned the male national winner at Super Bowl LX in February, earning a $25,000 college grant, according to the Jaguars' website.

Clutter was also recognized during halftime of the Bolles-Bishop Kenny football game on Sept. 11, according to the Bolles website.

Part of a Hispanic Heritage Month push

Sunday's ceremony was part of the Jaguars' "Somos Duuuval" Hispanic Heritage Month initiative, which includes youth football camps, literacy outreach and student-athlete recognition across Northeast Florida.

Whether Clutter advances to a national finalist round has not been announced. The 2025 cycle culminated with the national winner recognized at the Super Bowl.
