Mandarin High School girls soccer has a clear target for 2026-27: the Gateway Conference tournament title.
Ryli Snow, Kallie Helou, Najla Bahor and Marlee Munn represented the Mustangs at Sporting Jax's fourth annual Soccer Media Day on Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Winston Family YMCA in Riverside, according to News4Jax. The program is "setting sights on Gateway in 2026-27," according to a post on X by the team's account.
The regular season begins Nov. 2.
The Mustangs are building on a strong 2025-26 campaign. Mandarin finished 14-5 overall, scored 68 goals and allowed just 18, according to MaxPreps. The team went 1-0 in district play and reached the playoffs, beating First Coast 9-0 and Fletcher 2-0 before falling to Pace 1-0 in the regional round.
Snow is a familiar name on the Mandarin scoresheet. She scored in a 2-0 Senior Night win over Wolfson on Dec. 16, 2025, according to the MHS Girls Soccer account on X. She also figured in a 2-1 home victory over Fleming Island on Nov. 11, 2025, when the team account credited "a late connection between the Snow sisters" for sealing the result.
The Gateway Conference soccer title is the prize the Mustangs are chasing. Wolfson won both the boys and girls Gateway soccer championships on Jan. 16, according to the Florida Times-Union. Mandarin, Fletcher and Stanton have traditionally been among the top Gateway athletic programs in Duval County.
The Mustangs were not the only local program at Media Day. Mandarin's boys soccer sent Christian Hernandez, Luke McElroy, Logan Myers, Andres Chacon and Arthur De Bem. The Bolles School was represented by Olivia Schneider, Avery Suvoski, Maggie McGurrin and head coach Mike Pickett, according to News4Jax.
FHSAA soccer practice opened across Northeast Florida on Oct. 12. The Mustangs' first opponent and full 2026-27 schedule had not been posted on MaxPreps as of Oct. 30.
