Theatre Troupe 1776 will bring its Broadway Cabaret fundraiser to the Mandarin Community Club on Friday, Sept. 18. The event marks the third straight year the Jacksonville theater group has staged a cabaret to raise money for the historic club.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. at the club, 12447 Mandarin Road. All proceeds benefit the club.

The troupe, which specializes in family-friendly productions, will perform selections from classic Broadway musicals with a cast of actors of all ages. Light food and beverages are included with every ticket purchase.

Adult tickets carry a $20 suggested donation, and children’s tickets carry a $10 suggested donation, with no purchase necessary to attend. Guests can RSVP and donate in advance through the Mandarin Community Club’s website or Facebook page, or reserve spots at the door.

The cabaret builds on two previous fundraisers at the club. A 1945-themed cabaret in 2024 and a 1950s cabaret in 2025 both raised funds for the venue. The Mandarin Community Club's stage has theatrical roots stretching to the late 1800s and the era of Harriet Beecher Stowe, who once lived in the Mandarin community.

Theatre Troupe 1776 has deepened its ties with the club beyond the annual cabaret. The troupe also performed live patriotic music at the club's June 14 Patriotic Picnic, according to Florida NewsLine.

A Florida Citrus fundraising table will be set up at the Sept. 18 event, giving guests a chance to pre-order Florida fruit. The Mandarin Community Club is also running a separate citrus fundraiser with pre-orders that opened Sept. 1, as we reported Aug. 27.

Brett Nolan, vice president of the Mandarin Community Club's board of directors, wrote the Florida NewsLine announcement about the cabaret.

Residents can RSVP and donate in advance through the Mandarin Community Club's Facebook page or by calling (904) 268-1622.
