Mandarin United Methodist Church opens its pumpkin patch to families Saturday, Oct. 3, for a Fall Festival loaded with games, crafts, face painting, a kids' movie and treats.

The afternoon event runs from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church, 11270 San Jose Blvd. The church described the festival as a celebration of the start of fall on its event page, inviting families of all ages to the pumpkin patch for an afternoon of activities.

Games, arts-and-crafts stations, face painting and a kids' movie screening are all on the schedule. The church has not announced which movie will be shown. Treats will also be available.

Admission details were not listed.

The pumpkin patch at Mandarin UMC is a longtime neighborhood draw. Ponte Vedra Focus, which lists the patch among area pumpkin destinations, called it "a longtime Mandarin tradition for many local families."

Families who arrive early Saturday can make a full day of it. The United Methodist Women's 36th Annual Craft Festival runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the same location, according to the church's craft festival page. That event features handcrafted items, baked goods, concessions and a children's shop. All proceeds support United Women in Faith mission projects.

The Craft Festival wraps up at 3:30 p.m., just 30 minutes after the Fall Festival opens its doors at 3 p.m. Families could attend both events back to back without leaving the church grounds.
